Tailoring Class

A sewing machine in the corner of a home can quietly rewrite a family's future. Our tailoring classes put one there.

Widows, single mothers and women from low-income households join a six-month course in tailoring, embroidery and garment finishing. Training is free, and machines are available for practice at the centre.

Graduates are linked to self-help groups where they save together, take small loans and take on bulk stitching orders as a collective rather than competing alone.

Many now stitch school uniforms, blouses and bags from home — earning while remaining present for their children.
