Daycare Centre
While parents leave before sunrise for construction sites and markets, their youngest children have nowhere safe to be. Our daycare centre gives them a room of their own.
The centre opens early and closes late so it fits the working day of a daily-wage family. Children between two and six years spend the day in a clean, supervised space with trained caretakers from the same neighbourhood.
Mornings are for play-based learning — letters, numbers, rhymes in Tamil and English — and afternoons for rest, a hot meal and health checks. Growth and immunisation are tracked for every child.
For many families this is the difference between a parent going to work and a parent staying home. It is also the first place a child is ever read to.
